The handmade Shimano WH-RS700 Tubeless wheelset is very tenable and reliable. The lightweight carbon wheels with different rim profile height - 24 mm at front and 28 mm at rear wheel - offer efficient acceleration and high drive rigidity. The hubs feature high-quality contact seals and cup and cone bearings for smooth rolling and best performance. The rear wheel features the OptBal 2:1 spoke lacing which means that the drive side has twice as many spokes as the non-drive side what enhances the wheel rigidity and durability.

For Shimano 10/11-speed systems (10-speed only with spacer).

Different rim shapes for front and rear optimized lacing and reduce weight making this wheelset both lightweight and strong. Previously only available in the Dura Ace hubs, the Digital adjustment system eliminates the double lock system found on most cup and cone hubs. Instead a ratcheting ring is hidden under an end cap, and to adjust it you just remove the end cap with a 5mm allen, and then simply rotate the ring to remove any play in the bearing.

    Very good upgrade!

Posted by Timo on 7th Apr 2014

After 2000+ miles on my Bontrager RaceLites, i decided it was time to take a step up. The RLs cracked once, (which was thankfully under warranty, but still....), and they replaced the wheel with something very aesthically different. The spokes were too bladed, which caught the cross-winds very hard. The Ultegras are a very nice upgrade, and well worth the investment. Still aero profile with bladed spokes, but not too wide. Tubeless build is a BIG bonus, as well as the 23mm rims. Hills are not nearly as intimidating to ascend, and quicker to climb. Acceleration is quicker, too. So far, i've only got about 200 miles on them, but from the first ride out, i could tell a big difference, all for the better. By the end of my usual rides, i feel like i could keep on going for another 20. I'm sure there are quicker, lighter wheess out there still, but the price was right, and so far, i've found these to be a real good decision. No regrets. I plan on a minimum of 20k on these wheels. Highly recommended and appreciated. They've rekindled the fun of riding again.
