The Vittoria Creed is a great value alloy-rimmed wheelset that is aimed specifically at Cross Country riders.
Creed:
Vittoria have applied the millions of miles of racing experience they have gained through the production of race tyres to produce their first range of MTB wheels. All models in the mountain range feature a set of Italian made Centerlock-compatible hubs, which use straight pull spokes and are convertible to all of the usual axle standards. The Creed wheelset may be the entry level model in the range but thanks to the superb build quality and attractive price tag they will no doubt be one of the best selling models in the new Vittoria wheel range.
Wider Rim Profile:
Their research, testing and practical experience shows that wide tubular rim profiles (WST) and wide tyre rim profiles (WSR) improves tyre performance in comparison to traditional narrow rim profiles. Vittoria wheels are designed to benefit from this improvement. The tread contact area is shorter and wider, so the tyre grips and handles better in corners. In addition the tyre casing (clincher and tubulars) deforms less, making the tyre faster because of lower rolling resistance.
AS asymmetric rims build a stiffer wheel:
The AS asymmetric rim is the foundation for a laterally stiffer wheel, by balancing the spoke angles on left and right sides. This is needed on disc-braked fronts, where the Centerlock sleeve displaces the hub flange sideways out of the center, as well as on rear hubs. The 2.5mm offset from center on AS rims minimizes differences in spoke tension and equalizes spoke-lacing angles, making the wheel stiffer and more stable.
Run tubeless securely with Speedlock:
Setting a new standard in security for tubeless tyres, Speedlock is a subtly profiled rim-bed that significantly improves tubeless compatibility of off-road alloy rims. Even at lower pressures, tyres cannot roll off. It also makes installing and inflating tubeless tyres much easier.
